One hundred years ago, it was the slogan powering the movement to allow women to vote in the United States: Votes for Women.
Suffragettes and their supporters across the country wore “Votes for Women” buttons to make a statement and advance their campaign, all the way to passage of the 19th Amendment in 1920.
In a year with more women on the ballot than ever before and women voters expected to exert more influence than ever before, “Votes for Women” remains a powerful call to action. Progress on the issues we care about -- voting rights, civil rights, equal representation and equal opportunity -- depends, quite simply, on votes for women.
73% of Let America Vote candidates are women! This year, protecting access to the ballot box means electing women. Help us make it happen and show your support for electing women candidates by snagging this button!
